Ian James Wood. If anyone took to this particular zone this last season it was him. While I’m accidentally front flipping down chutes, he’s straight lining the spines. Can’t wait till he starts airing the whole zone (and landing) next season.
It’s rare you get this kind of view at Stevens. I’d guess maybe 14/15 days are cloudy, snowing or most likely both. I just sat staring at this shot for a good 10 minutes remembering all the great mornings we all had this past season riding Hogsback chair line (foreground in the shade). Its one of the most mellow zones we have but is packed with airs and an infinite number of ways to ride it creatively. The amount of fun I had there this past season should be illegal.
After our normal break around 11 or 12, we normally head up to cowboy (background in the sun) for some good old fashioned steeps. in those 10 minutes of staring at this photo i couldn’t even begin to touch the amount of runs the rest of the dudes and I took down this small portion of cowboy. This particular section is a little gnarly, but when you reach the bottom and your testicles decide to come out of your body again your guaranteed a giant smile and some of the most genuine high fives you’ve ever given. Needless to say i can’t wait for another day when were all lucky enough to ride all this beautiful terrain.
At the beginning of spring there was an amazing event on top of Cowboy ridge. The community towed a keg, had a good time and shared their love for each other and our fallen friends Chris, Johnny and Jim. Today is Chris Rudolph’s birthday so i thought it an appropriate time to share these photos. Chris Rudolph, Jim Jack and Johnny Brenan; You will be in our hearts forever.

Earlier this season we had quite a few folks rolling through Stevens. Will Jackways was here with Abby Lockhart filming for the new Videograss movie as well as Tobi Strauss and DBK were here for Isenseven. We all headed out to Grace Lakes in our mega posse and tried to get some shots. Here’s one of the group on top our our step down and a couple of myself. I’m looking forward to seeing the shots all the other fellas got in next seasons videos.
Ryan won the Retro Fools Day Stunt Ditch competition on the 21st. The whole event ended up being super epic, everyone dressed up and had a great time! We all can hardly wait for next season.
Here’s Ians yearly edit. I think he did a really good job with the feel, narrating and editing (with some color correction by Cory).
My new board sponsor Arbor just put out an edit of them visiting Stevens earlier this season. The dudes stayed at out house and we showed them around for a few days. Check out Mark riding a bunch of pow and see a short cameo from Ian (they put the wrong last name in there) and I.
