At the beginning of spring there was an amazing event on top of Cowboy ridge. The community towed a keg, had a good time and shared their love for each other and our fallen friends Chris, Johnny and Jim. Today is Chris Rudolph’s birthday so i thought it an appropriate time to share these photos. Chris Rudolph, Jim Jack and Johnny Brenan; You will be in our hearts forever.
Here’s Ians yearly edit. I think he did a really good job with the feel, narrating and editing (with some color correction by Cory).
This Sunday the Stevens Pass community took a huge blow. 3 of the most well respected and loved skiers were taken from us in an avalanche outside the resort. Chris Rudolph was the best of us all, a valued friend and responsible for helping Hot Lava out in basically everything we have ever done. We will never forget our friend that we all looked up to in every way possible. Our hearts go out to the family and loved ones of Chris Rudolph, Jim Jack and Johnny Brenan.
Here is what Stevens had to write about these gentleman. “The Stevens Pass family is deeply saddened by the loss of 3 extraordinary men. Johnny Brenan – an enthusiastic Leavenworth local, events host and former ski patroller. Jim Jack – a constant positive force, a local legend and pillar within the freeski community. And Stevens Pass’ own Marketing Director, Chris Rudolph – a man of endless charisma and charm, whose vision and dedication to Stevens Pass helped shape the mountain we all love today. We ask that you extend your thoughts, prayers and positive vibes to their family and friends.”
